The only event of its kind in Mumbai, the Writers Retreat offers professional, workshop-style insights to anyone and everyone looking to become a better writer, from established authors and bloggers, to reporters, playwrights, casual writers, students, and storytellers-- all in a setting far away from the sounds and stresses of the city. Set two hours outside of Mumbai in Dehna, the two-day workshop will give your mind and body the space they need to let your ideas take shape and flow. The retreat will be hosted in a village. Imagine sessions in beautiful natural surroundings, with mountains standing tall wherever you look.
The retreat starts Saturday morning, we'll stay overnight, continue the next morning and afternoon, and then return to Mumbai on Sunday night. All meals and accommodation are included in your registration. There is also an option to take a bus to the retreat which we will organize. You're welcome to drive as well, but there will be a group option for going together.
Designed by Grassroutes Journeys and Tall Tales (India's longest-running live storytelling event series) the retreat is an opportunity to find yourself-- by getting lost. We cover the essential structure of stories, how to plan, start, edit, and revise them, as well as the factors that separate mediocre writing from unforgettable prose. Learn the secrets that the professionals use to grab audiences and apply them immediately to your work no matter if you write for fun, or for the most important audience out there-- yourself. Transform your story writing, and make life-long friends doing it.
The retreat is a life-changing, two-day experience in the village of Dehna, Maharashtra on Sunday, October 1st and Monday, October 2nd, 2017. It combines all 7 Tall Tales writing workshops into one plus adds new things that we ONLY do at our retreat. Note: our retreat usually is on a Saturday/Sunday but September 30th is Dusshera.
