Experience the India's First Coffee Estate      Bangalore

9000 2D/1N

Balur Estate is a 400 acre coffee plantation since the 1840s. The Planter’s Bungalow has stood testimony to the changing seasons and centuries at Balur since 1853. The River Hemavathy originates just above the Estate. Its truly a pretty, fascinating piece of India’s Coffee Heritage. We welcome you to spend a few days and soak in the place, its history, and its solitude. We could describe it but it can only be experienced.

The bungalow is beautifully restored with antique furniture. It has all the trappings you associate with the glory days of yore with rooms with roofs so high your voice echoes. You can sleep looking at the skylights interspersed with mangalore tiles. The grounds are huge with an actual lake within the estate. You can't even see another building from where you sit. The vistas around the property are blue hills. The walk inside the estate is all surrounded by coffee plantations, intermixed with pepper and argonaut trees.
